The territory
The locality of Ponte Arche Terme di Comano lies at an altitude of 400 metres in the west of Trentino but with a climate found at an altitude of 700 metres due to the proximity of the Brenta Dolomites and Lake Garda.
It is 30 km. from Trento, 40km. from Madonna di Campiglio, 26 km. from Riva del Garda and 20 km. from Lake Molveno.
Ponte Arche is located in a strategic point of the Val Giudicarie because all the above well known localities can be reached within a half-hour drive.

The Spa is surrounded by 14 hectares of greenery, an authentic natural oasis on the banks of the river Sarca. A paradise for children who can play in complete safety in the various well equipped areas ; the ideal place for easy walking, for some physical exercise along the fitness trails set out in the surrounding woods, for relaxing in the sun or for getting lost in a book in complete peace on the banks of a splendid lake.
The environmental characteristics of the valley, its enviable position, the rural villages, the ancient hamlets and farm lands make it the ideal destination for those who love to feel at home in the area where they are staying.

The Adamello Brenta Nature Park

This is the largest protected area in the Trentino region with its 618 km2. It is a naturalist oasis of great worth for its fauna, flora and for the large variety of habitats present.
Visitors are welcome in all seasons either on their own or in organised groups.
At just 5 km. from Ponte Arche, taking the Val d’Algone is the entry to the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Starting at an altitude of 800 metres and using you own car (regulated access) you can reach the Malga Movlina at around 1500 metres where there is car parking and a picnic area.
From here it is possible start out on foot for walks to the various mountain huts of the Brenta Dolomite Group.
This Group extends over a distance of approx. 40 km. and a breadth of around 12 km., with a maximum altitude at Cima Tosa of 3173 metres. There are an infinity of paths, walking routes and climbs at all levels, with very accommodating mountain restaurants and summer pastures.
The excellent way the paths are conserved makes it possible to join up the different mountain restaurants, thereby offering day trippers the possibility of alternative routes with traverses and climbs to suit their own personal abilities.

The Castles

Setting foot on a land that evokes history, culture... emotions. One’s thoughts run freely and become lost in the magic of the castles enshrouded in incredible wonder: impregnable fortresses, the romantic reign of fair ladies and knights, but also bearing testimony to an age threatened by voracious conquerors and sullied by bloody battles. All around Terme di Comano these ancient look outpoints once upon a time surveyed the valley on high from rocky outcrops, on the crest of strategic hills or skilfully hidden in the thickness of the woods. They are brought back to life today with music of the times, guided visits and historical re-enactments. Castle Stenico is open to visitors and is the most imposing and best conserved in the valley, it dates from the XIII century but stands on the site of a pre-existing prehistoric hillfort; Castel Campo, refined by cylindrical towers and embraced by castellated walls, is hidden in a wooded scrubland. It is now a privately owned residence and can be visited only when special events are put on; Castel Spine, partly reconstructed, partly derelict began life as a communal refuge and is now privately owned; Castel Rèstor, with a similar genesis and history to Castel Spine, is today being restored; Castel Mani, humble ruins bear proud testimony to a very ancient past.

The Wine and Food route from Lake Garda to the Brenta Dolomites

Among the bell towers of Brenta and the olive groves of Garda.
Not just a route, an itinerary, certainly not a distance, but a connection, an embrace with the territory, a synergy that is born between “Artisans of taste” and “Artists” that interpret the beauty of our valleys to make the most of the tastes that often turn into… pleasure. Mostly following the river Sarca, it is the characterising feature of our part of Trentino, connecting, from its sources in the heart of the Adamello-Brenta to its mouth in the immense Garda, a mosaic of very original tastes. In the middle the area has a multitude of very variegated areas, which in only 35 kilometres as the crow flies pass from Mediterranean farming, to typically alpine produce and crops, passing through villages with vast agricultural areas and sites of high environmental interest and low anthropic presence. The territory, which in ancient times almost fully corresponded with the ‘Judicaria Summa Laganensis’, today offers a rich tourist menu: from trekking on the peaks of the incomparable Dolomites, skiing, the Spa and wellbeing, the museums, relaxing afternoons on the beaches of the largest of the Italian lakes: Garda. And that’s not all, climbing and much more too. A land with a wealth of history and culture that has managed to maintain a healthy relationship with the surrounding environment. A land of a thousand aspects, all ready to be discovered and …
